About the business
Charismatic Performance Coaching
was born from a community that witnessed me through 8 years in pageantry, 12 years in professional theatre and performance, and a lifetime of creativity and forging my own path and asked for help on their own journeys. What began as a pastime and passion for helping others has expanded into a serivce that extends beyond. Accepting both virtual and in-person clients, CPC provides tools and resources for anyone to step into any space on their life's path with preparation and ease. Though I offer training in four specific areas, I ultimately aim to meet whatever artistic or personal development needs may arise with actionable and applicable skills to create a shift towards attaining one's goals. Prioritizing self-awareness and physical/emotional wellbeing, I offer coaching and workshops in acting, pageantry, public speaking, and mindset.

About
Me
Hi there! As you've probably guessed,
I am Charence Higgins!
A creative through and through, I've been blessed to share my talents as an actor, singer/songwriter, poet, model, dancer, event host, director, motivational speaker, facilitator, and educator. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and another in Speech Communication & Theatre from Jackson State University as well as a Master's of Fine Arts in Acting from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. All of my studies, from the most research intensive to the most practical, inform the performance work that I do and my holistic approach to training and encouraging other artists.
Born and raised in central Mississippi, I feel extremely blessed to carry on in my family's footsteps by attending the best HBCU in the land, THEE Jackson State University where I'm proud to say I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was elected Miss Jackson State University. Pageantry opened up a world of celebrating and thriving in the arts that I carry with me in each of my artistic and academic pursuits. While in school, Portico Magazine recognized me as one of the "Top 25 Students Who Will Change the World," and with every passing day I strive to do just that.
After graduating from JSU I relocated to the DMV to pursue acting. While there, I had the privilege of performing at some amazing theatres and working for the Smithsonian Institute as a conversation facilitator and interactive performer. As an actor, I am blessed to have had the opportunity to perform in theatrical productions across the country in Mississippi, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Maine, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Chicago where I currently reside. In addition to performing on some incredible stages, I've also been a teaching artist working with over 400 students through residencies and workshops around the city. Chicago has been a beautiful artistic home and I'm so excited to continue to flourish here and wherever my artistic journey may lead me next.
